The RPI is active in the fields of:
- provision of expert services and expert support:
- to national and local authorities, regulatory agencies and industries in the fields of health, sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population, nuclear and radiation safety and environmental protection;
- on drafts normative and methodical documents and regulation in radiation safety;
- on radiation safety for the purpose of state sanitary and epidemiological expertise;
- development of normative and methodical documents and regulation in radiation safety;
- modeling of radionuclide transport processes in the environment and human body and dosimetry;
- radioecological and dosimetric monitoring of radioactively contaminated territories and research into the effects of radiation exposure on human health;
- development of software for radiation safety and health risk assessment;
- taking measurements by the Central Testing Laboratory.
