Specialists of the RPI are the authors of the main state normative documents in the field of radiation protection and nuclear safety, in particular:
- Norms of Radiation Safety of Ukraine (NRBU-97, NRBU-97/D-2000), Basic Sanitary Rules for Radiation Safety of Ukraine (OSPU-2005)
- Clearance of radioactive materials from regulatory control;
- Radiation Safety Standards for NNEGC “Energoatom”:
- Radiation-hygienic Standards of Group I (permissible and control levels):
- General rules for the establishment of radiation-hygienic standards of group I – 3 norms and standards of the MoHU and the NNEGC “Energoatom”;
- permissible and control levels for all Ukrainian NPPs – 52 documents endorsed by the MoHU;
- Organization of individual monitoring of internal and external exposure on Ukrainian NPPs – 10 standards of the NNEGC “Energoatom” and other normative documents (all of them were endorsed by the MoHU);
- Emergency preparedness and response on Ukrainian NPPs – 7 standards of the NNEGC “Energoatom” endorsed by the MoHU;
- Zoning around Ukrainian NPPs and assessment of doses to the population in these zones – 3 documents (all of them were endorsed by the MoHU and 1 document from them was also endorsed by the SNRIU);
- Radiation-hygienic Standards of Group I (permissible and control levels):
- Standards and Methodical Documents on radiation safety and radiological protection at the ChNPP, Shelter “Object” and in the Exclusion Zone:
- Sanitary Rules of Radiation Safety for “Shelter” Object (SPRB-ОU);
- Instructions and Methodical guidance “Individual Dosimetric Monitoring of Internal Exposure for the Personnel Involved in the Works at the Shelter Object”;
- Other 14 documents endorsed by the MoHU (including, organization of individual monitoring, the establishment of permissible and control levels, emergency preparedness and response, fuelwood use, etc.);
- Radiation-hygienic standards of group I (permissible and control levels) for the State Enterprise “Eastern Mining and Processing Plant” (for the Smolinsk and Ingul Uranium Mines as well as for the Hydrometallurgical Plant) – 11 documents endorsed by the MoHU;
- Instructions and Methodical guidance for Territories of Ukraine contaminated due to the Chornobyl Accident:
- Radiation and Dosimetric Characterization of the Settlements of Ukrainian Territory that Suffered from Radioactive Contamination as a Consequence of the Chornobyl Accident, Including Thyroid Dosimetric Characterization (Guidance‑96);
- Reconstruction and Prognosis Exposure Doses Inhabitants Living on The Territories of Ukraine Contaminated by the Chornobyl Accident (Guidance‑97);
- Radiation and Dosimetric Characterization of the Settlements of Ukrainian Territory that Suffered from Radioactive Contamination as a Result of the Chornobyl Accident (2019);
- Permissible levels of 137Cs and 90Sr activity concentration in foodstuff and drinking water.
